There are two kinds of groups that embody BPF's mission at the local level:
1) A BPF Chapter is a group whose members have joined together to support each other as socially engaged Buddhists, and who represent BPF's mission in the world. Chapters have applied for and received official chapter status from the BPF office. Chapters meet on a regular basis and organize events and actions in their local regions, and stay in regular communication with the BPF office in Berkeley, CA.
2) BPF Friends are individuals who have a warm, informal relationship with BPF and have offered to serve as a source of information for people in their local area. Some BPF Friends may be in the process of forming chapter, and would welcome hearing if you're interested to help lead a chapter in the future.
If you have difficulty contacting a chapter in your region, please contact the Regional Representative for that region (listed at the start of each region). Regional Representatives are members of BPF's Chapter Council.
If you would like to participate on our BPF list serve please email us at: bpfchapters@bpf.org
In order to work with current chapters to reconfigure our chapter community, BPF is not accepting new chapter applications at this time. Please check back in the Fall if you are interested in starting a chapter.
