Thulani Davis is an ordained Buddhist priest of the Jodo Shinshu Buddhist Church at the Higashi Honganji, Kyoto, Japan. She resides in the New York City area where she is a poet, teacher, writer, and the author of several works including My Confederate Kinfolk.

David R. Loy is an authorized teacher in the Sanbo Kyodan lineage of Zen Buddhism and holds a Ph.D. in philosophy. He is a professor at Xavier University and the author of several works on socially engaged Buddhism, philosophy, and ethics including his latest book Money, Sex, War, Karma: Notes for a Buddhist Revolution.
